    2011: "Sneak Peaks" Part IV

    And the season continues……

Before you take a peek at what we’ve been up to in our peak season, some food for thought:
“Elegance doesn’t mean being noticed, it means being remembered.” — Giorgio Armani
A lot of clients do approach us with the desire to have something unique and outstanding. Often times, being caught up by this vision can cause a detour to choices that are so focused on how to be different, rather than what is already unique and the most precious: the client! We have turned away people whose desire to be different or over-the-top was so strong, that we believed would compromise what would otherwise be a brilliant or classy artistic direction. Nothing is more beautiful and interesting than the story {love story} that is each person’s own. Instead of being wavered by wanting to be different, it is usually more wise to focus on the narrative and also embrace the time-tested value of “less is more.” Moments of spontaneity and detail in the design are only better noticed when there are not 10 other competing elements that scream, “look at me!!”

From an art director’s perspective, we define our position in the field of design through our work: our creations are timeless pieces of art. These pieces are made to be remembered, but not because of a style that has been forced upon a client. Rather, a wonderful story will be remembered & told through a beautiful printed piece that acts as a reminder when memories grow old. Objects can contain memories, and all the details help us to find meaningfulness. This is at the core of a Palettera design.
