Good things come naturally — Raewyn & Charlie’s wedding had a relaxed and naturous spirit, as they hosted their wedding in their favourite setting provided by mother nature. Their party was coined “a garden party under the willows” — a high-style, naturally-inspired gathering under her favourite willow tree, on family property in Blue Mountain, Collingwood. Raewyn grew up riding horses, and spending time with family at their riding arena on Braeburn Farms. She’s down-to-earth and loves to have fun, with a beaming smile. She desired to capture this warmth and countryside style through her wedding design. “The farm has been in my mother’s family since the 1960s, and my grandmother designed the initial garden. We were married under a trellis, overlooking Georgian Bay.” -RAEWYN
Nothing is more classy than understated luxury. In contrast to a sparkly luxury, this divine combination of natural elements and textures with delicate wedding objects made an incredibly beautiful statement. To capture the feeling of countryside, texture was an important component: we used a substantial & heavy cotton stock, earthy kraft stock, some stitching and presswork, all in a boxed suite that was hand crafted using seed paper that was re-interpreted onto a linen stock. The main invitation was hand-drawn and then letterpress printed. To add a touch of glam, we gilded the edges around the main piece of the invitation in a rich gold. Details were deliberately bundled in a separate package, which included the hand-illustrated map of Collingwood and RSVP postcard that were presented in a sewn packet. Upon tearing open the packet, the map unfolded just like a vintage/rustic roadmap. The experience of the invitation alone was enough to give guests an exciting taste of what was an unforgettable day of celebration in the countryside.
To complete the experience, we also created custom letterpress-printed menus, programmes, table numbers and valet tags. We also created rustic custom signage that was hung throughout the space, which included wooden signs that we hand-painted in greens and whites. Each sign was hung using an oversized white grosgrain ribbon, which was the perfect finishing touch!
