Connecting through correspondence: hand-written postcards in vintage style.

ALOHA! I opened our mailbox last month to a bunch of colourfully illustrated postcards! To my delight, it was a cheerful set of 3 postcards from Stephanie & Chris — they were in Hawai’i for a wedding and thought of us while they were basking in the glorious sun. Isn’t the artwork great? It has a rich flavour of the island and all the iconic imagery that attracts us to escape to the tropics.

It’s always nice to receive a handwritten message on paper! Being a stationery designer who constantly helps others find the right paper and card and invite to connect with their friends, it is a special treat to receive inspirational and artful messages in the mail from my best friends…. with exotic postmarks to authenticate the whole process!

In the span of a week, I felt really special! Because Kitty also sent me a lovely postcard from Heidelberg, Germany…. the land of the printing press 😉 I was so envious because she mentioned her visit to 14th Century buildings & breath-taking architectural masterpieces…. but her stories alone are great inspiration in my design work. She brought me back a gorgeous hand-made journal from Prague & it’s just perfect!

Europe & Asia & friends in Vancouver, I will see you sometime soon, I promise. Until then, enjoying our beautiful Toronto & atelier lifestyle in Unionville/Markham, Ontario. 😉
