The most iconic fashion-inspired wedding invitations that were ever made — this is how we felt about our invitation design for Giselle and Mike. On clear Lucite, we mounted a gorgeous cut of marble paper in turquoise and jewel tones, which were like the waves of an ocean and grandeur of its creatures. We then printed an abstracted coastline of Cabo tone-on-tone onto navy blue, and debossed the wording and a beautiful illustration of shells in matte gold. To finish, we added sophisticated touches of Swarovski crystal in black, and gold studs — a true ode to fashion and the sea.
Giselle and Mike are both fashion enthusiasts. The couple first met at Holt Renfrew, where they worked together. Their professional relationship turned to something more. They shared love for kickboxing and fashion eventually led to their shared love for one another, and a year later on July 1st, Mike proposed.
Both non-traditionalists, and with divine taste influenced by Holt Renfrew, they wanted a wedding that was stylish, contemporary and inspiring. The couple dreamed of a destination wedding with their closest family and friends. The beauty, culture and beaches of Mexico drew them to the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Surrounded by palm trees, soft white sand and the sparkling blue Sea of Cortez, the hotel was a stunning setting for their dream wedding and of course, a beautiful backdrop for their photographs.
Giselle and Mike exchanged vows on March 29th, 2012. Fifty guests joined them to bask in the tropics and help them celebrate. After a few days of relaxation, Mike and Giselle exchanged vows in a beautiful chapel located within the resort, decorated with candles and lavender to create a romantic ambiance. They were serenaded by a female vocalist Nyda Aboumrad, and then danced the night away under sparkling stars, to songs by Spanish guitarist Arturo Sotomayor, and DJ Edwin Bonilla.
Giselle chose a stunning & form-fitting Carlos Miele gown, which echoed the texture of seashells. A Cartier Trinity diamond engagement ring sparkled on her finger, along with her wedding band- a double pave ring by Charriol. Mike’s handsome David Yurman wedding band incorporated black pave diamonds.
The event was beautifully planned and executed by Giselle’s mother, Enaya Rabba. It was a blend of fashion, elegance and the sea, as purple, green and blue colors enhanced and drew on the natural beauty of their surroundings. Centerpieces were a striking combination of the sea and sand, using sea shells, moss, sand and sand dollars, embellished with orchids and greenery. Custom -made shells on each guest’s chair were meaningful keepsakes. We created beautiful programs and menus, along with Lucite table numbers that graced the tabletops. Their beautiful seaside, fashion-infused beach wedding was an unforgettable event and was featured in the 2013 Summer Edition of Elegant Wedding Magazine.
