This Thanksgiving, I am thankful that I am able to chase my dream and do what I love. I am thankful for our vintage presses & our wood type collection that allow us to make beautiful things at our studio. I am thankful for family, friends, the media, our wonderful clients and supporters who provide encouragement, praise, critique, and food when I pull late nights at the studio 🙂
We are currently waiting on some more photographs from the 2nd batch of summer in review features for the blog! So as a break from the Autumn Showcase (of summer weddings), I thought I would share some images of the cards we are making in the studio! We are quickly ramping up for Christmas, so if you are thinking of asking us to design a custom letterpress design for your family’s Christmas cards, place your order early! All of our designs are beautifully hand-drawn and then pressed onto 300 gsm cotton cardstock…. the design process is totally worth it!
For this project, we hand-mixed colours to press on a few different stocks: pearlized & linen. The white stock is actually what I call “championship white” as it reminds me of the paint on a Honda Civic Type R in championship white. Although blind (colourless) debossing has a subtle elegance, for these cards, we added an extra touch of the white ink to give the pattern a more apparent shadow on the purple pearl. Lastly, the design is topped with thanks in shiny gold and silver, and a single tiny heart.
Now that wedding season is winding down, it’s a good time to think about thanking everyone who made this year so exciting! Palettera thanks all of our friends and community for your support! With love & thanks! XOXO.
